Capital City History at Cascades Park – Tour Description
Cascades Park is located in the heart of downtown Tallahassee,and is one of our most significant spaces for recreation and entertainment. This guided tour uses the features of Cascades Park to tell the tale of Tallahassee from it’s founding in 1824 to present day. Highlights of the tour include
- Florida’s Prime Meridian
- First Florida Capitol Cabin
- Tallahassee’s Moon Tree
- Centenniel Field
- Smokey Hollow
- The Korean War Memorial
- The Adderly Amphitheater
- The Tallahassee Civil Rights Memorial
This tour is scheduled by request for 2 or more guests, and is available 7 days a week dependent upon guide availability and park events. We can customize this tour to include a beverage/coffee from one of the park’s local eateries.
What Else You Should Know
This is a walking tour. Comfortable shoes and a water bottle are highly recommended, especially in the warmer months of the year. This tour runs approximately 2 1/2 hours without restrooms available.
